Samsung’s Galaxy A03s hasn’t altered much from last year. At least it has better Wi-Fi than the previous model, which was one of our greatest gripes. Has Samsung’s new Galaxy A03s been worth the money?

In our assessment of the Samsung Galaxy A02s, we found that the phone’s Wi-Fi performance was abysmal. Using a little more modern SoC than the A02s, Samsung hopes the Galaxy A03s to reclaim its title as the most affordable phone in the Galaxy A lineup.

Is the Galaxy A03s’s price just an increase and the Wi-Fi problem fixed, or is there any significant improvement? Let’s find out!

Details on Samsung Galaxy A03s

As a successor to the Samsung Galaxy A02s, Samsung announced the Galaxy A03s in 2022. It’s the cheapest member of the Galaxy A series in the United States, and the family genealogy is visible.

Except for the top and bottom bezels, the Galaxy A03s has a nearly identical display to its predecessor. Even in terms of physical dimensions, both phones are similar.

This year, Samsung reduced the number of Galaxy A03s versions accessible, and only two are currently available in the United States.

The Galaxy A03s has a matte back instead of the glossy one found on the prior model, which significantly excludes the previous model’s diamond design. Plastic is the material of choice, which is great for a low-cost phone.

The phone is available in black, blue, and white color schemes. Once again, the bottom bezel is substantially thicker, and the front-facing camera has a waterdrop notch in it.

The Galaxy Phone’s build quality is excellent for the price point, and it’s a pleasure to hold. Although it weighs 196 grams, its 6.5-inch screen could hinder those with small hands due to the phone’s heft and size.

Connectivity

A 64 GB model with 4 GB of RAM is also available outside the United States. Samsung has set official pricing of slightly under $200 for the configuration with less storage. Compared to Motorola and Nokia’s offerings, Samsung’s Galaxy A03s lack 64 GB of storage in this price bracket.

In exchange, it has NFC, which is uncommon in low-cost phones. Mobile payment services, for example, can be used with it. You can use two SIM cards simultaneously on the Galaxy phone, and the MicroSD card for storage extension has its slot for independent use.

Software

Samsung’s own OneUI 3.1 is installed on top of Android 11 as the operating system’s foundation. It’s easy to use with only one hand, and it looks great. Samsung preinstalls a few of its apps and certain third-party apps on its devices.

DRM L1 certification on Samsung’s cheap phone means that You can stream HD content from significant sources. At the testing time, the security updates were at the September 2021 level, meaning they were three months old. Because of the low cost, don’t expect too many updates to this game.
