The Motorola Moto G Fast is smack dab in the middle of the smartphone market. Motorola’s latest low-cost phone, priced under $200 (check current price on Amazon), delivers great performance, a long battery life, and a near-stock version of Android 10.
The $150 Moto E is an excellent choice for budget-conscious consumers with a crisper display and better audio. The $250 Moto G Power, which costs $50 more but offers improved performance in nearly every area, is a better medium value option.
Design, Display, and Longevity
There is a distinct difference between the Moto G Fast and Moto G Power and the Moto G Stylus. The bigger end of the scale measures 6.37 by 2.98 by 0.36 inches and weighs 7.02 ounces. There is a little notch on the front of the phone for the selfie camera. 268ppi density is achieved using a resolution of 1,560×720 pixels.
Call, Audio, and Network Quality
Unlocked, the Moto G Fast can be used on all major US networks. LTE bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 25, 26, 29, 30, 38, 41, 66, and 71 are all supported. Even though it lacks some of the more costly Moto G Power and Moto G Stylus’s additional bands, this is unlikely to influence most people.
On Verizon’s network, we were able to get 53.9Mbps down and 23Mbps up with the Moto G Fast. The sound quality of the phone calls is likewise excellent. 88dB of peak earpiece loudness makes it easy to hear in practically any setting. In terms of latency, there is none, and communications are clear and sharp.
Other than that, it’s just a lousy speaker. The maximum output from the bottom-firing speaker is 88dB, and the audio is flat with too much midrange and zero basses. Multi-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 are supported.
Cameras

In well-lit conditions, the 8MP camera on the front performs admirably. Looks like we have a great depth of field in our test photos. It’s a horrible idea to take low-light photographs.
Specifications and Capabilities
However, the Moto G Fast is powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 CPU as its G series brothers. The Moto G Power and Moto G Stylus have 4GB of RAM. However, this phone only has 3GB.
There is now just half as much storage, at 32 GB, with over 20 GB of that being immediately available out of the box. With a microSD card, you may add up to 512GB of extra storage.
Software
My UX, Motorola’s new user interface, is pre-installed on the Moto G Fast. The phone comes with a practically stock Android experience out of the box. There are a few parameters that you may tweak to suit your style and tastes.
The movements you may employ with Moto Actions, for example, let you swiftly access commonly used functions. Taking a screenshot is a simple process. It’s as simple as tapping the screen three times. Before a meeting, did you forget to put your phone on do not disturb mode?
Conclusions
Despite its $200 price tag, Motorola’s Moto G Fast is a decent phone that fits awkwardly. While the Moto e is $50 cheaper, the Moto G Power is $50 more expensive, yet both have many same features.
With that in mind, we suggest the Moto G Power above the Moto G Fast if you’re looking for the best bang for your money. Because of its improved display, long-term battery life, and powerful speaker are more likely to keep you satisfied.
